Winamac Dominates HNAC Cross Country Championships with Season-Best Performances

The Winamac Warriors delivered a powerhouse showing at the 2025 HNAC Cross Country Championships, as the boys captured the team title and the girls claimed runner-up honors. Both squads recorded season-best times across the lineup, highlighted by individual conference champions Logan Fredel and Avery Wegner. 👟 Boys Team – HNAC Champions (All Season Bests) The Winamac boys captured the HNAC Championship in dominant fashion, scoring 31 points with an average time of 18:13. Every runner set a season best, and all five scorers finished in the top 13 overall, outpacing Caston (39 points) and Pioneer (60 points) for the crown. Senior Logan Fredel claimed the individual HNAC title with a blazing 16:24.97, a personal and season best. Fellow senior Nathan Pierzchalski followed close behind in second (16:40.51), giving the Warriors a commanding 1-2 start that set the tone early. Winamac’s blend of senior leadership and emerging young talent secured the championship and built major momentum heading into the postseason. 🏃‍♀️ Girls Team – HNAC Runner-Up (All Season Bests) The Lady Warriors followed with a stellar performance of their own, earning runner-up honors with 45 points and an average time of 23:09. Like their male counterparts, every Winamac girl ran a season-best time, capping a breakout day for the program. Senior Avery Wegner captured the individual HNAC Championship in 20:48.86, her fastest race of the season and a decisive win. Senior Kandace Kroft claimed third overall (21:22.77), combining with Wegner for another powerful 1-3 team front. With all athletes achieving season-best performances, Winamac proved they’re peaking at the right time. Their strong runner-up finish behind Triton solidifies them as a postseason threat ready to make noise at sectionals, which is October 16th at Rensselaer.
