Warriors Compete Strong at Culver Academies Invitational

The Winamac cross country teams took on a deep and competitive field at the Culver Academies Invitational. Both squads delivered solid races on a tough course, while fine tuning as tournament season approaches. Girls Highlights Avery Wegner – 17th Another standout effort, finishing inside the top 20 and leading the Lady Warriors. Kandace Kroft – 44th A determined performance that helped anchor Winamac’s scoring front. Maddy Goodman – 69th – Personal Best Turned in her strongest race of the season, setting a new PR with a composed run. Makayla Werner – 103rd – Personal Best Earned a career-best time, showing her steady training is paying off. Roni Garbison – 140th Continued to bring stability to the varsity group with a steady finish. Brooklyn Jachim – 157th – Personal Best Achieved a new PR while competing tough in a large, competitive field. Boys Highlights Logan Fredel – 9th Another top-10 finish, once again showing he can contend at the front of big meets, even through adversity. Nathan Pierzchalski – 21st Gave Winamac a strong second scorer, staying close to the lead group. Paxton Moon – 75th Delivered a solid performance in the middle of the pack, helping keep the team’s spread competitive. Elisha Burns – 143rd Ran with grit, maintaining consistency across his splits. Austin Pratt – 158th The freshman continues to build confidence with each meet, showing promise for the future. Joel Showley – 193rd Battled through the large field, contributing important depth. Braylen Becker – 182nd Stayed tough throughout the race, adding to the Warriors’ overall effort. Recap The Warriors left Culver encouraged by their performances across the board. The girls celebrated three new personal bests from Goodman, Werner, and Jachim, with Wegner and Kroft setting the tone up front. On the boys’ side, Fredel’s top-10 and Pierzchalski’s top-25 finishes anchored a solid team effort. With PRs stacking up and leaders holding strong, Winamac continues to build momentum heading into the Conference next weekend.
