The Winamac Lady Warriors faced off against tough competition and even tougher weather conditions last Saturday at the HNAC Tournament, held at Round Barn Golf Club. Despite a valiant effort, the team finished 5th overall in a field challenged by relentless rain and soggy fairways. The round began under ominous skies, and the Lady Warriors struggled to find their rhythm before the downpour set in. Once the rain arrived, momentum was hard to come by, as wet conditions made every shot a test of patience and precision. Still, there were bright spots for Winamac. Seniors Hunter Hines and Cady Jones both earned all-conference honorable mention, showcasing their consistency and grit in adverse conditions. Additional scoring contributions came from Brianna Patton, Kandace Kroft, and Marissa Iverson, rounding out a team performance that showed promise despite the challenges. With the HNAC tournament behind them, the Lady Warriors now turn their focus to sectionals at Dykeman Park Golf Course in Logansport on Monday. Armed with experience and determination, they’ll look to make a strong postseason push. Stay tuned as Winamac aims to turn lessons learned into leaderboard success.
