The Winamac Varsity soccer team traveled to Rensselaer and came away with a hard fought 1-0 win. It was a physical matchup with both teams being aggressive while not being afraid to make contact to get the advantage. While Rensselaer had some opportunities to score a goal, the Warrior defense stood tough and kept them from getting many clean looks at the goal. Goalkeeper Hutch Martin earned his first career shutout win with 8 saves in the goal. The offense was able to attach often and taking 23 different shots by numerous team members. Sean Stark scored the lone goal for the Warriors. Winamac's next game is at home on Thursday 9/18 against conference opponent Culver. The game starts at 5:00 PM. Please come out and support the team as they look to cap off a busy week on a positive note.
