Winamac Volleyball Hosts North Miami

By Heather Kasten | Sep 16, 2025 7:21 AM

In a Warrior v. Warrior match up last night at Winamac, the Warriors of North Miami came out on top with final scores of 18-25, 25-20 and 10-15 for the junior varsity, and 17-25, 18-25 and 15-25 for Varsity. With North Miami coming in 5-0 in the HNAC and 15-5 overall, Winamac had their work cut out for them. "After studying film and running through some adjustments, we were definitely prepared for their big hitter and to cover on the block. We did those things well against them. What we didn't adjust well to was their tip game." quoted Coach Kasten. "Unfortunately it wasn't until the 3rd set that we figured it out and were able to read them consistently. We played right with them for the first 15, 16, 17 points each match. We need our seniors to step up and help pull our underclassmen along to build their endurance - physically and mentally." The leaderboard included Ava Malchow with 9 kills and an ace, Abby Keller with 16 assists and 8 digs, Grace Roth with 3 kills, 12 digs and 2 aces, and Audrey Dickinson with 7 digs. While things the Warriors struggled with early in the season, like serve receive and serving, having resolved themselves, the next layer of focus must be offense to put those much needed points on the board. Winamac travels to Oregon Davis on Thursday.
