Winamac Softball Splits Past Weekend Games

Four runs batted in from Emma Goodman helped lead Winamac Warriors Varsity past Frontier 14-2 on Saturday. Goodman drove in runs on a single in the first and a single in the fourth. Winamac Warriors Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Goodman singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Winamac Warriors Varsity put up seven runs in the fourth inning. Winamac Warriors Varsity's offense in the inning came from singles by Makayla Werner and Goodman, groundouts by McKenzie Hinz and Brody Goodman, and an error on a ball put in play by Maggie Smith. Brooke Rausch was the winning pitcher for Winamac Warriors Varsity. The pitcher allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking zero. Anderson took the loss for Frontier. The hurler lasted three and a third innings, allowing nine hits and 11 runs while walking one. Winamac Warriors Varsity scattered 12 hits in the game. Goodman, Smith, and Werner each had multiple hits for Winamac Warriors Varsity. Werner, Smith, and Goodman all had two hits to lead Winamac Warriors Varsity. Frontier totaled six hits in the game. In the top of the second inning, North Miami tied things up at two when Hoover singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. North Miami took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Hackworth singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Sumpter-Music's sac fly scored one run for North Miami. North Miami scored three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for North Miami came thanks to a single by Musselman and by Hoover. Duncan was the winning pitcher for North Miami. The pitcher surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking zero. McKenzie Hinz took the loss for Winamac Warriors Varsity. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing ten runs on 15 hits, striking out five and walking one. Emma Goodman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Winamac Warriors Varsity in hits. North Miami saw the ball well today, racking up 15 hits in the game. Musselman, Hackworth, Goulette, Hunt, and Hoover each racked up multiple hits for North Miami.
