Winamac Warriors Varsity Nabs Win Over Culver Academies

Despite allowing three runs in the seventh inning, Winamac Warriors Varsity defeated Culver Academies 12-5 on Tuesday. Culver Academies offense in the inning was led by Maggie Cordes and Madi Walczak, all driving in runs in the frame. Winamac Warriors Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Emma Goodman singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Winamac Warriors Varsity put up four runs in the seventh inning. Maggie Smith, Makayla Werner, and Goodman each had RBIs in the frame. Smith was credited with the victory for Winamac Warriors Varsity. The ace allowed 12 hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out five. Madison Stevens took the loss for Culver Academies. The hurler surrendered 12 runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out two. Winamac Warriors Varsity tallied one home run on the day. Goodman had a dinger in the seventh inning. Winamac Warriors Varsity totaled nine hits in the game. Smith, Goodman, Samantha Perry, and Werner all managed multiple hits for Winamac Warriors Varsity. Smith went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Winamac Warriors Varsity in hits. Winamac Warriors Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Goodman had the most chances in the field with seven. Culver Academies tallied 12 hits. Parker Beyer, Stevens, Walczak, and Ava Borland all collected multiple hits for Culver Academies. Beyer led Culver Academies with three hits in three at bats.
