Michael Loehmer will continue his outstanding academic and athletic career 4 more years while playing football at Franklin College. What made you choose Franklin College? “When I was looking at colleges to attend, Franklin spoke to me to see if I was interested in playing football and that really caught my eye” What is your favorite memory of football while participating as a student-athlete at Winamac? “I would say my junior year having the undefeated regular season and playing with the senior class above me” Was playing a collegiate sport something that you always wanted to do? “No, it was not always in my sight, but after the beginning of my senior year and the role that I took I then felt I was good enough to play at the collegiate level” Who were people along the way that helped you achieve this goal? “I feel that John Hendryx was a really big part of my journey and also Coach Josh Burgess my head coach my senior year” What would you say to other student-athletes who are on the fence about wanting to play football? “If someone were to ask me what built my character the most during my 4 years in high school it was football. Football has shown me if you put your mind to something that through hard work and dedication you can accomplish anything.”
