Winamac Warriors Varsity Grabs Lead In Ninth Inning To Defeat Delphi Community

Winamac Warriors Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Delphi Community on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Winamac Warriors Varsity batting in the top of the ninth when Makayla Werner singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Winamac Warriors Varsity got things started in the first inning when Corrin Combs singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Delphi Community evened things up at three in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lacey Pickering singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. McKenzie Hinz led the Winamac Warriors Varsity to victory on the rubber. The ace went nine innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and striking out eight.
