With Smith On The Mound, Winamac Warriors Varsity Shuts Out North White

Maggie Smith shut down North White, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Winamac Warriors Varsity to a 17-0 victory on Monday Emma Goodman led Winamac Warriors Varsity to victory by driving in six runs. Goodman went 3-for-4 at the plate. Goodman drove in runs on a double in the second, a double in the third, and a home run in the fourth. Winamac Warriors Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Makayla Werner drove in two when Werner homered. Winamac Warriors Varsity scored six runs in the second inning. Isabelle Decker, Werner, Goodman, McKenzie Hinz, and Corrin Combs each had RBIs in the frame. One bright spot for North White was a single by Machya Cearing in the first inning. Smith was the winning pitcher for Winamac Warriors Varsity. The ace went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out five. Kaylyn Applegate took the loss for North White. The pitcher allowed 15 hits and 17 runs over five innings, striking out eight. Winamac Warriors Varsity tallied two home runs on the day. Werner went yard in the first inning. Goodman had a dinger in the fourth inning. Winamac Warriors Varsity racked up 15 hits. Goodman, Werner, Lauren Bruce, Smith, and Hinz each racked up multiple hits for Winamac Warriors Varsity. Werner and Goodman each managed three hits to lead Winamac Warriors Varsity. Winamac Warriors Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field.
