Winamac Warriors Varsity Nabs Win Over West Central in Shortened Game

Despite allowing three runs in the first inning, Winamac Warriors Varsity defeated West Central 5-3 on Thursday. The big inning for West Central came thanks to a single by Jalie Glasford and an error on a ball put in play by Brooklynn Lattimore. West Central fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored two runs for West Central. Winamac Warriors Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. McKenzie Hinz took the win for Winamac Warriors Varsity. The bulldog allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Jaden Erb took the loss for West Central. The bulldog went five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking one. Winamac Warriors Varsity tallied eight hits. Maggie Smith and Hinz all collected multiple hits for Winamac Warriors Varsity. Smith went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Winamac Warriors Varsity in hits.
