Varsity Softball falls to Morgan Township

Winamac Warriors Varsity lost the lead late in an 8-7 defeat to Morgan Township on Tuesday. The game was tied at six with Morgan Township batting in the top of the seventh when K Dudzik homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. Winamac Warriors Varsity collected five hits and Morgan Township had six in the high-scoring affair. Morgan Township opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored two runs for Morgan Township. M Watson earned the win for Morgan Township. The fireballer went one and one-third innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out one and walking zero. Maggie Smith took the loss for Winamac Warriors Varsity. The bulldog lasted one inning, allowing two hits and two runs while walking zero. McKenzie Hinz started the game for Winamac Warriors Varsity. The hurler lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out four K Ritthaler started the game for Morgan Township. Ritthaler lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out nine Winamac Warriors Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Makayla Werner put one out in the sixth inning. Emma Goodman had a long ball in the fourth inning.
