Winamac Lady Warriors Dominate Rensselaer With Depth, Determination, and Personal Bests

The Winamac Lady Warriors track and field team put on a commanding display of talent and teamwork during their meet against Rensselaer Central on May 6th, 2025. With a final score of 81–51, the Lady Warriors secured a strong team win and celebrated a night filled with personal records, milestone performances, and season bests. 🔥 Top Performers Kadence Hoover – 16.25 points Hoover dominated the distance events with victories in the 1600m (5:48.50), 800m (2:45.80), and 3200m (13:49.93). Sadie Popejoy – 16.25 points Popejoy sprinted to personal bests in the 100m (13.13) and 200m (27.96) and threw a meet-winning 95-08 in the discus. Kandace Kroft – 9 points Kroft scored in all three of her events—high jump (4-06), 100m hurdles (19.54), and a personal best in the 300m hurdles (56.11) ✨ Team Highlights and Personal Bests Claire Goodman scored 8.25 points across the distance races and anchored relay strength with consistency in the 1600m, 800m, and 3200m. Allyson Campbell added 8 points with a 1st place in the 100m hurdles and 2nd in the pole vault. Ava Malchow ran a personal best in the 400m (1:06.57) and added a point in the 200m, showing speed and improvement. Madelyn Goodman earned a personal best in the long jump (13-03.00) and ran a strong leg of the victorious 4x400m relay. Emily Weaver set personal bests in both the 100m dash (14.05) and discus (74-07.00), scoring in each and underlining her development. Alison Vides reached a new personal record in the discus (40-02), marking a milestone in her throwing career. Halle Short set a personal best in discus (40-03), continuing her progression in the event. Mershai Loehmer achieved a personal best in the shot put (21-00.00), showing growth in the field. Jordyn Hounchell made her pole vault debut memorable by scoring 1 point with a 3rd place finish (5-06.00). Avery Wegner, returning to the track, scored 5.5 points and played a key role in the middle distance events, boosting the team’s depth. 🏅 Relay Dominance and Season Bests The 4x800m relay team ran a season-best 11:18.43, winning the event and setting a new bar for the squad.
