Winamac Girls Fall to West Central The Winamac girls track and field team put together a strong effort in a dual meet against West Central but came up short on the team scoreboard. Still, the Warriors saw several standout performances across track and field events, with multiple athletes claiming first-place finishes and podium spots. While the overall result favored West Central, Winamac’s strong individual performances highlight the team’s potential. With a solid core of sprinters, distance runners and field athletes, the Warriors have the talent to build momentum as the season continues. 🌟 Claire Goodman High Scorer for the Warriors Senior Claire Goodman led the way for Winamac, finishing as the team’s highest scorer with 14.25 points. She swept the 1600m and 800m, took second in the 3200m, and ran a leg of the first-place 4x800 relay team with Kandace Kroft, Avery Wegner, and Kadence Hoover. 🥇 Event Winners Sadie Popejoy delivered a strong all-around performance, winning the discus and finishing second in both the 100m and 200m. Allyson Campbell claimed victory in the 100m hurdles and added a second-place finish in pole vault. 🥈 Second-Place Finishers Kandace Kroft finished second in both the 300m hurdles and high jump, and was a key part of the winning 4x800 relay team. Emily Weaver placed second in shot put. Mylie Foster earned a second-place finish in long jump. Madelyn Goodman took second in the 400m. 🥉 Third-Place Finishers Mershai Loehmer placed third in the 100m hurdles. Maci Earp finished third in the 800m. Sierra Haschel earned third in discus.
