Kamden Long is signing with Olivet Nazarene University to continue his academic and athletic career for their track and field program. What made you choose ONU? "Olivet has a lot of opportunities for me and when I walked on the campus I felt immediately loved and it will help me grow in my faith and become the person I want to be," What is your favorite memory of playing sports while participating as a student-athlete at Winamac? "My favorite memory has been going to opportunity hill and seeing everyone struggling for air after running it multiple times. I just think it's really funny, even when I'm dying" Was playing a collegiate sport something that you always wanted to do? "Yes, growing up I always felt athletics has been a calling and when I tried track my freshman year and tried hurdles that's when I knew what I wanted to do after high school" Who were people along the way that helped you achieve this goal? "My family and my coaches encouraged me to keep going even when I thought it was getting hard" What would you say to Winamac students who are on the fence about wanting to join track and field in high school? "You might think it will be hard and there will be times it is but you'll make amazing friendships, connections and do amazing things during your time in track."
