Winamac Athletics- WARRIOR MENTALITY

Lauren Bruce is signing with the Marian University Ancilla Chargers to continue her academic and athletic career for their softball and basketball programs. What made you choose Ancilla? "I liked that it was close to home and it had the degree I wanted with Business and Sports Management" What is your favorite memory of playing sports while participating as a student-athlete at Winamac? "Sectionals my sophomore year in softball, our team was up and the dugout was really loud and we made earphones out of the Gatorade cups in the dugout and a radar gun" Was playing a collegiate sport something that you always wanted to do? "No, I had a good plan going with welding and didn't think of the athletic route after high school" When did playing collegiately become part of your plan? "December, I found that there were more things in life that you could accomplish and my love for softball could go farther." Who were people along the way that helped you achieve this goal? "My mom" What would you say to Winamac students who are on the fence about wanting to join softball in high school? "Try it, it's fun, not only the sport but the relationships with people that you can make"
