Winamac traveled to Royal Center on Thursday to take on the Pioneer Panthers in a battle for the HNAC trophy. After several long rallies and back and forth points, Winamac took a three set loss to the 2024 semi-state contenders, 15-25, 13-25, 10-25. "We struggled to put the ball down on their side of the court, even though our defense gave us every opportunity. Pioneer played clean and controlled; we just didn't have the edge we needed," quotes coach Heather Kasten. Ally Campbell led the offense on the right side of the court with 4 kills, while Ava Malchow and Mylie Foster each added two a piece. Brooke Rausch, Grace Roth and Maggie Keller each contributed 5 digs, while Marissa Iverson had two solo blocks for the night. Winamac is back in action at home Tuesday October 1 against Argos for their Block Out Cancer night. Junior Varsity match will begin at 6:00!
