Boys Basketball at North Newton

The Winamac Warriors boys basketball team traveled to Morocco, IN for a battle with North Newton on Saturday afternoon. The Junior Varsity improved to 2-0 on the year and was in control from start to finish. The Warriors varsity squad was doomed by cold shooting from the field once again and fell the the Spartans 47-41. John Malchow led the Warriors with 16 points, all of which came in the second half after the Junior was forced to sit the majority of the first half with foul trouble. Sawyer Depoy and Michael Loehmer grabbed 5 rebounds a piece to lead the defensive effort for the Warriors. Winamac is back in action next Friday in their home opener against Rochester.
