Some great competition showed up at the Tippecanoe Valley Invitational on Saturday, leaving the Warriors 0-4 on the day. Several mental errors and a height differential with several teams, put the Warriors behind Carroll, Northfield, North Judson and defending semi-state contender, Churubusco. Northfield won 25-17, 25-15. Carroll beat Winamac 25-16, 25-23. Churubusco came out on top at 25-18, 25-10 and both sets against North Judson ended 25-11. Winamac had several players ended the day with double digit stats, however. Brooke Rausch led offensively with 15 kills, with Marissa Iverson adding 12 kills and Ava Malchow putting in 10 kills. Those kills were assisted by Linzy Walters with 27 assists for the day. Maggie Keller led the defense with 25 digs, and Grace Roth was right behind her with 23. Mylie Foster contributed big behind the serving line with 5 aces, while Hannah Meyer and Grace Roth contributed 2 aces a piece. The Warriors have a big week coming up with Tri-Township coming to Winamac on Monday, Triton visits on Tuesday and the Lady Warriors will head to Pioneer on Thursday.
