Zebras Over Warriors in 3 Sets
By Heather Kasten | Sep 30, 2022 10:26 AM
The Lady Warriors traveled to Rochester last night to take on the Zebras after their senior night celebration. Unfortunately, Winamac wasn't able to match their pace in the first two sets, leaving the Warriors down 4-25 and 14-25. The third set had the Warriors looking much more comfortable with a 19-25 result, but still not enough to steal the set. Warrior stat leaders were Piper Link with 7 kills, 5 digs and a block assist, McKenzie Hinz with 9 kills, 3 aces, 7 digs and a block assist, and Kaelyn O'Connor with 3 kills. Assists were dished out by Lauren Fredel (7) and Linzy Walters (10). "We're pretty banged up right now and it's starting to take it's toll on the girls. With that being said, we definitely struggled to do our first jobs first - pass the ball. We had almost an entire game worth of service reception errors that weren't usable. When we did get the ball to target, our communication lacked and hitters weren't prepared to swing. None of our pieces were clicking together last night, and that happens. We just need to figure it out in the next 10 days." claimed Coach Kasten. Monday night will be the Warriors last home game. They will face North Judson for their senior night, which will take place between the JV and Varsity matches.
