Bianca Huizar came off an amazing senior year for the Warriors and will continue her career by attending Holy Cross College at Notre Dame. What made you choose Holy Cross at Notre Dame? "I would say that I chose Holy Cross because it was an environment where I could pursue my athletic abilities as well as my academic ones. I also liked that it had the tri-campus feel with Notre Dame and Saint Mary's right next to it. So it felt like one big community." What is your favorite memory of playing sports while participating as a student-athlete at Winamac? "I would say my favorite memory playing is after I won the sectional and all my friends and family were there to celebrate. It was a really cool feeling that a person from a small town could compete with other schools that were bigger and had more resources." Was playing a collegiate sport something that you always wanted to do? "I think when I started out my freshman year, golf was not something that I would take seriously but then I started to fall in love with the sport during my sophomore year and then I felt that I could pursue it in college" Who were people along the way that helped you achieve this goal? "My parents and my grandma because she was the one who introduced me to golf. Then by the time I hit high school it was my coaches and teammates that helped me though the season to better myself." What would you say to Winamac students who are on the fence about wanting to play golf in high school? "I would say to try it out because golf has so many different opportunities for you to get better. And you get as much out of the sport as you put into it. And anyone has the ability to get good at golf as long as they have the right work ethic"
