County Rival Defeats Winamac on the Road

By Heather Kasten | Sep 7, 2022 12:27 PM

Winamac came off of the long holiday weekend a little rusty at Tuesday's West Central volleyball match. Several missed opportunities to turn the tide cost the Warriors the first three sets against the Trojans, 10-25, 11-25, 15-25. While West Central was determined and scrappy, their 17 kills to Winamac's 19 was not a game changer. 25 hitting errors, 16 service errors and 13 service reception errors gave away a game that belonged to Winamac. "We struggled to move past our mistakes mentally. It was written all over our faces that we were losing that game. I know that wasn't our best, but some days 100% looks different than the day before. We definitely learned the importance of earning our own points and not relying on other teams' mistakes," quoted Coach Kasten. The Warriors will have a day to get things straightened out before getting back on the road Thursday to take on Caston at 5:30.
