Varsity vs Delphi (53 - 57) Loss The Warriors started out of the gate a little chilly like the weather tonight, falling behind 21-12 at the end of the 1st quarter.The 2nd quarter saw an even game but the Warriors were starting to heat up. Will Malchow led the way in the 1st half with 8 points and Jayse Bentle had 7. Trailing 36 to 27 the Warriors played really well defensiviely forcing the Oracles into some bad shots and turnovers and cutting the lead 5 at the end of 3. The Warriors fought hard in the 4th quarrter cutting the lead to 54-53 with 23 seconds to go in the game on a John Malchow 3. Delphi added a free throw and the Warriors had the ball with 20 seconds to go down 55-53 and missed a 3 attempt and the Oracles walked away with the win. Winamac had a balanced scoring attack tonight, led by Will Malchow with 12, Jayse Bentle and John Malchow 11 apiece, Brendan Hines had 8 and Justin Potthoff added 7. Ethan Burgess had 2 baskets and contributions from Ayden Jimenez and Jaybin Hines added to the Warriors as well.
