Winamac Athletics- Home of the Warriors

The Winamac Varsity team traveled to Oregon Davis and came away with a 10-1 conference win. The Warriors came out by attacking quickly and scoring 8 goals in the first 30 minutes of the game. The offense did a good job of moving the ball and finding the open space to set up numerous shot opportunities. Their defense was on point as well keeping the home team from getting many scoring chances. The whole team was focused and able to keep the pressure on the home team no matter which combination of players were on the field. The Warriors were able to end the game early against the Bobcats which only had 10 players. Sean Stark led the offense scoring 3 goals. Hector Gallegos and Kannon Hoover had 2 goals each. Rylan Craig, Ethan Kruzick, and Layne Weaver each scored 1 goal. Rylan Craig, Sean Stark, and Jaybin Hines each had 2 assists while Kaden Hines had 1. Hutch Martin had 2 saves and Jonathan Okeefe had 4 saves. Sean Starks 3 goals gives him a total of 79 career goals which breaks the old school record of 78 that was held by Kevin Good. Winamac's next game is Thursday October 1st at 6:00 as they end the regular season at Caston with a conference game that will be critical for final placement. They will also see Caston in the first round of sectionals.
