The girls varsity basketball team had an exciting home opener with a veteran Westville team Tuesday night, but it struggled down the stretch and lost 53-50. Kandace Kroft had a strong all-around game with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 deflections/steals. She was also a perfect 4/4 from the free throw line. Marissa Iverson added 10 points while battling foul trouble all night. KK O'Connor played a strong game and scored 7 to go with 7 rebounds. Sadie Popejoy added 8 points and 8 rebounds. The Lady Warriors are now 1-1 and prep for a double weekend with Friday's game at Argos and Saturday's game home with Caston.
