The boys and girls cross country teams stepped onto the course at the Culver Academies Invitational ready to compete against a tough field and navigate a challenging layout. This years layout was riddled with jagged turns and sharp twists. The course tested each runner's agility and focus, but both squads stepped up to the challenge with strong, determined performances. Girls Squad Highlighted by Trio of Personal Bests The girls team delivered exceptional individual performances, anchored by three lifetime personal records. Katelyn Burgess, Jaelyn Huddleston, and Kallie Kasten all clocked the fastest 5K times of their careers: Jillian Burns led the girls squad across the line, placing 113th overall with a time of 26:02.61. Katelyn Burgess was next in 137th place, earning a personal-best time of 27:40.59. Kallie Kasten cracked the 30-minute barrier with a huge personal best of 29:58.73, placing 151st. Brooklynn Jachim battled through the turns to finish 153rd in 30:29.31. Jaelyn Huddleston rounded out the squad with a milestone personal best of 35:47.51, finishing 168th. Boys Squad Shows Strength Across the Line The boys team put together a disciplined pack effort through the technical sections of the course, led by a top-30 finish from Brody Bonnell: Brody Bonnell charged ahead to capture 30th place overall, crossing the finish line in 18:31.05. Braylen Becker ran a solid, composed race, taking 136th place in 21:36.3. Evan Burgess crossed right behind in 141st with a time of 21:45.19. Austin Pratt finished 142nd in 21:47.84. Ethan Showley placed 145th, stopping the clock at 21:55.88. Elisha Burns placed 150th in 22:09.04. Joel Showley rounded out the boys effort, completing the course in 24:01.03.
