Winamac Athletics- Home of the Warriors

The Winamac Varsity soccer team hosted Peru and defeated the visiting Tigers 6 - 2. The Warriors used their speed and aggressiveness to create opportunities on several scoring chances. They were able to find holes in the Tiger defense taking the space that was available and then found their open teammates for scoring chances. Defensively the Warriors were making chances stepping into lanes and taking away open space from the Tigers. The Warriors were attacking to get the first chance on several occasions. Sean Stark had 2 goals for the Warriors while Rylan Craig, Liam Burton, Jaybin Hines, and Kannon Hoover all had 1 goal apiece. Jaybin Hines also had 2 assists while Justin Housinger, Asher Jones, and Kannon Hoover had 1 assist each. Jaybin Hines's 2 assists puts him at 35 in his career giving him sole possession of that record. Hutch Martin had 5 saves in goal for the Warriors. Winamac's next game is on Thursday September 10th when they travel to South Bend Riley for a JV half followed by the Varsity game.
