Varsity Volleyball Takes on Bombers

By Heather Kasten | Aug 19, 2022 2:13 PM

The Lady Warriors fell to another young, yet strong team Thursday night. The Rensselaer Bombers were without most of their senior leaders Thursday evening at Winamac High School, but that didn't stop them from giving our Warriors a run for their money. Winamac didn't make it an easy win, taking the Bombers to 4 very emotional sets - 19-25, 25-17, 24-26 and 8-25. It was another tough loss, but the little things are falling into place. Hustle, determination and teamwork are high on the list of hurtles the Warriors needed to overcome with such a young squad. Being able to push past the mental errors is next up on that list and Coach Kasten is confident in their ability to do so. Several good, long rallies led to a slew of stats last night, including Hailey Attinger's 6 kills and 4 digs, Piper Link's 6 kills and 12 digs, and Lauren Fredel's 23 assists, 14 digs and 3 kills. McKenzie Hinz added 13 kills and 14 digs, while Raegan Kasten led the team's serving with 5 aces and 13 digs. The Warriors will finish their first full week of contests at the North Miami Tomahawk Invite tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM where they will face off against Peru and newest sectional opponent, Wabash.
