Triton Takes Down Warriors

By Heather Kasten | Sep 20, 2023 7:04 AM

Winamac Volleyball traveled to Bourbon last night for another conference match up on the road. The Trojans celebrated their 5 seniors before taking on the Warriors in a well-played three set match. Winamac played fearlessly against the well-experienced team led by Addyson Viers, who holds a school record with over 1,300 career kills. Cleaning up their unforced errors from the night before at Tri-Township, Winamac forced errors and the Trojans worked for each point they had. "I love when we play in the moment - not thinking about the last play or the next play. We flow and play instinctively. That's what made the difference tonight." commented Coach Kasten. "That was a fun game. We played really well together." quoted senior, Piper Link, after the match. Winamac ended the night with a 0-3 loss (8-25, 13-25, 10-25), but with high spirits. Top defensive leaders for the night were Maggie Keller with 8 digs, Raegan Kasten with 9 digs, 2 aces and a kill, and Ally Campbell with an ace, 2 kills and 5 digs. Offensively, Link ended the night with 7 kills, Marissa Iverson with 3 kills and 2 blocks and Brooke Rausch with 3 kills and 5 digs. Linzy Walters dished out 16 assists for the night. Winamac is back in action tomorrow at home against Pioneer for Grandparent's Night.
