Nathan Pierzchalski is signing with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to continue his academic and athletic career for their cross country and track and field program. What made you choose Rose-Hulman? "they have a good data science and software engineering program and have really good internship possibilities and I really like their coach for their cross country program" What is your favorite memory of playing sports while participating as a student-athlete at Winamac? "When Logan got stung in the eye by a bee during a cross country meet" Was playing a collegiate sport something that you always wanted to do? "It was not, but I did want to do it after my freshman year. Because of Coach Bennett and Coach Haschel persuaded me to pick up running and it became a hobby for me" Who were people along the way that helped you achieve this goal? "Coach Haschel pushed me to reach my goals and Coach Bennett really helped me enjoy the sport. And Logan Fredel was always there to help me through workouts that I didn't want to do" What would you say to Winamac students who are on the fence about wanting to join cross country and/or track and field in high school? "I would say just for it and join and if you don't like you can always drop it, but I'm pretty sure you'll end up liking it and sticking with it."
